Playa Del Rey Pipeway Project – The firm performed a peer review (aka served as owner’s engineer) for seven (7) structural steel pipe bridges and their pile-supported foundations at the Playa Del Rey Storage Facility. The bridges spanned up to 150-feet. This review identified major deficiencies in the civil and structural seismic design performed by others. The results of our peer review required the design firm to redesign all of the structures and foundations, increase member sizes, change the type of structural steel specified, and strengthen connections to meet code requirements.
